Coven Emblem

The Coven Emblem is one of Set 18's four non-craftable emblems — no recipe exists; it only arrives from augments, the Armory, loot or the carousel. Coven runs an unusual dense ladder at 3, 4, 5 and 7 across five champions: Camille at one cost, Caitlyn and Elise at two, Cassiopeia at three and Morgana at four. The trait is an economy engine rather than a combat buff. You gather Essence by killing champions and gain more by losing player combat, and once you reach a threshold amount you choose between converting Essence into rewards or continuing to bank it, with each successive reward costing more Essence than the last.

Because three of Coven's four thresholds sit one unit apart (3, 4, 5), almost any Coven board converts the emblem into a real tier — the densest conversion window in the set. And because it can't be crafted, receiving one is a meaningful signal: nobody else can manufacture it, so a Coven pivot you can support is uncontested value. The 7 requires the full roster plus two emblems or augment help, making it aspirational rather than standard. The timing consideration is different from every stat trait on this list. Essence accumulates across rounds and rewards escalate in price, so the number of rounds you spend holding the trait is itself a resource — an emblem that activates Coven at stage 3 is worth more accumulated Essence than the same emblem activating it at stage 5, even though the tier number is identical. The clause about losing player combat cuts the same way: a board that is behind still generates, which makes Coven unusually compatible with a board that intends to take damage while it develops.

Coven connects to Hunter (Caitlyn), Ravager (Camille), Vanguard (Elise), Spellweaver (Cassiopeia) and Invoker (Morgana) — a full comp's worth of classes inside one origin, which is why Coven boards self-assemble once the emblem commits you. The distribution is worth noting: one carry class, one melee class, one tank class, one caster class and one utility class, with no duplicates anywhere. Unlike origins that double up on a single class bridge, Coven gives you one thread into five different places, so the board it builds is decided by which of those threads you were already pulling.
